Inovalon and Walgreens expand relationship

Inovalon, a technology company that provides cloud-based data analytics and data driven intervention platforms to the healthcare industry, on Tuesday announced a multi-year expansion of its relationship with Walgreens.
"We have been extremely impressed with Walgreens' commitment to innovation and partnership, leading the expanding role of the retail clinic business model in utilizing technology to improve the way the healthcare system operates," Inovalon CEO Keith Dunleavy said. "The expansion of our relationship builds on our shared commitment to drive meaningful impact across the healthcare landscape. We are proud to be working with such an industry leader."
The expansion builds upon a unique offering in the health plans and retail clinic industry that leverages Inovalon’s analysis of more than 9.2 million medical events that provides analytic insight and improves clinical and quality outcomes and financial performance, Inovalon said.
The expanded partnership presents a patient assessment channel within Inovalon’s data-driven solution platform to health plans, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). Walgreens and Inovalon have been working together since early 2014 and have collaborated on two versions of member assessments at Healthcare clinic locations. Both versions used Inovalon´s cloud-based Electronic Patient Assessment Solution Suite (ePASS®) intervention support platform.
"We have found that our nurse practitioners are more than three times more effective in their assessments and quality scores when utilizing Inovalon analytics,“ said Jeffrey Kang, Walgreens senior vice president of health and wellness services and solutions.
