NASP announces new staff

The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) made an announcement Thursday that discussed the appointment of Jayson S. Slotnik as a health policy advisor and Virginia Sweeter to consultant for their meetings and education program.

"NASP is pleased to add Jayson and Virginia to our team," NASP Executive Director Jim Smeeding said. "Jayson recently provided able assistance to NASP in our first outreach to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on the issue of narrow networks and his addition is another step in NASP's development as the national voice for specialty pharmacy. Virginia Sweeter has extensive experience in association management and meeting and education program planning. She was involved in planning NASP's first conference in 2013 and we are pleased that she has re-joined our team."

Slotnik is a founding member of Health Policy Strategies, Inc., a consulting firm representing innovative biotech pharmaceutical device and diagnostic companies. He advises clients on Medicare and Medicaid coverage payment and reimbursement, along with other government policies.

Sweeter is a meeting planner and association manager. Prior to NASP, she served as the deputy executive director for the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, worked for Courtesy Associates/Smith Bucklin, a conference and association management firm, and served as deputy executive director for the American Helicopter Society International.
