PrecribeWellness joins Pharmacy Quality Alliance

PrescribeWellness recently joined the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA), a non-profit organization that develops and implements medication-use safety and performance measures.

“PQA is continuing to facilitate the transition to value-based models by establishing performance measurements to ensure the appropriate and safe medication use that stakeholders can be accountable for,” PrescribeWellness President and CEO Al Babbington said. “We are proud to be a member and excited to have the ability to collaborate with them.”

PQA develops quality metrics related to safe and appropriate medication use. Many of its developed measures are used by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for the Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Program.

PrescribeWellness helps pharmacies and other healthcare professionals provide effective, preventive healthcare services by improving medication adherence, chronic disease management, transitional care and population health.

Through its licensing agreement with PQA, PrescribeWellness will have access to the technical specifications to guarantee its clients have the latest PQA metrics used in government programs.

PrescribeWellness also now can actively participate in PQA’s Stakeholder Advisory Panels.

“PrescribeWellness is looking forward to contributing its voice to developing new methods and refining existing ways that performance is measured,” Tony Thuyen, co-founder and chief strategy officer of PrescribeWellness, said.
