CVS Health releases report on corporate social responsibilty

CVS Health Corporation released its eighth annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report on Thursday, outlining the company's progress against its CSR strategy, Prescription for a Better World.

The report also reflects on the company’s progress with its strategy's key pillars: Health in Action, focused on building healthy communities; Planet in Balance, focused on protecting the planet; and Leader in Growth, focused on creating economic opportunities.

The report is structured around nine strategic priorities and supporting goals CVS Health has identified as critical to advancing its Prescription for a Better World including accessible and affordable health care, support for patients with chronic disease, patient and customer safety, sustainable operations, product stewardship, supply chain responsibility, and a safe, rewarding and inclusive workplace, among others

The company reported that it achieved an 11 percent reduction in its carbon intensity since 2010, putting it on track to achieve its 15 percent carbon reduction goal by 2018.

The report tracks progress toward the Health in Action goal of improving access to quality, affordable care and cites CVS’s expansion of its Project Health free health screening events into 17 additional markets.
