RxMedic Systems announced the release of the RM200, a new robotic pharmacy dispensary system, on Thursday.

This system builds on its predecessors, the RM64 and the ADS systems, and offers pharmacists additional features, including the ability to fill two prescriptions simultaneously. According to the company's vice president, David Williams, this robot allows TriMaxx vials to be filled automatically. The vial has been a popular choice among professionals, but its previous versions could not fill it effectively, so pharmacies would fill these prescriptions manually.

Joe Miceli, president of Tri State Distribution -- the company behind the TriMaxx vials -- praised RXMedic for being able to incorporate the use of their vials with the machine.

"Combining the powerful patient communication and promotional features of the TriMaxx system with a 200-cell automated dispensing system gives pharmacies a unique opportunity to use automation to help build their business as well as to streamline it," Miceli said.

The company states that their new automated system will be displayed at the NACDS Total Store Expo that will take place in Denver between Aug. 22 and 25.

"RM200 has been designed to further enhance efficiency and productivity," Williams said. "This pharmacy robot takes the best of existing features, and then goes further."
