Long-term-care pharmacy firms Guardian, Winyah acquire PCPS

Guardian Pharmacy LLC and Winyah Pharmacy Solutions have acquired Preferred Care Pharmaceutical Services (PCPS), merger adviser Generational Equity said on Tuesday.

Generational Equity Vice President Mark Breheny and Managing Director Don Sawyer led the negotiations for its client, PCPS.

"Tim and Diane Keisler were a pleasure to work with, completely accommodating when requests for information came from Guardian Pharmacy, and Guardian Pharmacy were complete professionals when it came to keeping us in the loop where they were in the process," Breheny said.

Guardian Pharmacy, based in Atlanta, is one of the largest long-term-care pharmacy companies in the U.S., with 24 locations across 14 states, serving approximately 53,000 patients in hospice care, nursing and assisted-living facilities, and behavioral-health facilities. Winyah, a long-term-care pharmacy services provider, is a Guardian subsidiary based in Georgetown, South Carolina. PCPS, which provides health-care services to long-term care and other facilities, is based in Hollywood, South Carolina.
