Geneva Woods Pharmacy acquires SureCare Rx

Geneva Woods Pharmacy (GWP) said last week that an agreement has been reached for it to acquire SureCare Rx.

This acquisition is the latest in a line of GWP transactions to expand its service area in the Northwest region to stretch from southern Oregon to northern Washington. The company plans to phase out the SureCare, Kirk's and CHS Pharmacy brands.

“As the long-term-care pharmacy business has become more complicated, it became clear to us that we needed to partner with a company that shared our passion for client care and best practices, while having resources to meet today’s complex compliance and organizational requirements," SureCare President Jeff Harrell said. "In that regard, GWP was the perfect fit for us.”

GWP specializes in comprehensive pharmacy services that include long-term care, compounding, retail and home services. It also provides necessary medical supplies and equipment. Currently, it operates in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Washington and Oregon.

“When Jeff and I began our dialogue, it immediately became clear that his focus on building an 'A-Team,' providing great care and leveraging technology to serve rural markets was exactly aligned with ours," GWP President Dan Afrasiabi said.
