MinuteClinic partners with Molina Healthcare of Ohio

CVS Health's walk-in clinic, MinuteClinic, recently became an in-network provider with health care insurance provider Molina Healthcare of Ohio.

"This is an important development in the growth of our business and patient care as we expand our ability to serve even more people throughout Ohio," CVS Health Executive Vice President/Associate Chief Medical Officer and MinuteClinic President Andrew Sussman said. "By offering high quality treatment in a convenient and accessible setting, we can work with Molina to lower health care costs in the state."

Molina Healthcare of Ohio serves 340,000 members through government-sponsored health programs. There are 60 MinuteClinic locations in Ohio inside CVS stores in the Akron/Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Youngstown areas. These clinics are open seven days a week and appointments are not required.

"We are excited to offer Molina members this convenient option to access high quality health care services through our partnership with MinuteClinic," Molina Healthcare of Ohio President Amy Schultz Clubbs said. "This allows our members to easily get basic services outside of typical medical office hours including weekends. MinuteClinic is a great addition to our existing network of providers and provides an appropriate alternative to unnecessary emergency room visits for certain conditions."

MinuteClinic is in-network with more than 275 health care insurance carriers throughout the United States. The nurse practitioners in the clinics specialize in family health care and are able to diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for common family illnesses, minor wounds and joint sprains as well as administer common vaccinations.
