Eric Elliott named to Voluntis board

Voluntis elected Eric Elliott as its board of director's non-executive chairman on Monday following the retirement of his predecessor, Yves Barbieux.

Elliott has been working in the health industry for more than 30 years. He has worked with Rite Aid Corp., PCS HealthSystems and Aetna at the senior executive levels along with his most recent position as the president and CEO of Prime Therapeutics. 

He holds a bachelor's degree in management and finance, and a MBA from Temple University.

"I am excited to join the board because I believe Voluntis has a bold positioning and a unique combination of expertise to deliver on the promise of digital therapeutic solution in multiple chronic diseases," Elliott said. "I look forward to working with the management team and contributing to the company's future."

Voluntis develops software used in therapeutic and other medical setting, and specializes in software that aids in the care and management of chronic illnesses and conditions.

Voluntis CEO and Founder Pierre Leurent thanked Barbieux for his service and leadership to the company.

"His contributions were critical to the growth of the company, and we wish him the best for the future," Leurent said. "As we look forward to Mr. Elliott's leadership as our new chairman, we are fortunate to have the benefit of an outstanding life science leader who has previously led Prime Therapeutics, one of the USA's largest [pharmacy benefit management] companies."
