Jack Bruggeman earns Pharmacy Technician Educators award

American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Director of Special Publishing Jack Bruggeman received the Pharmacy Technician Educators Council (PTEC) 2015 Phil Naut Award last week.

The award is given to a current PTEC member in recognition of their ability to provide a sustained contribution to the education of pharmacy technicians, and a commitment to PTEC and pharmacy technicians through participation in PTEC programs and the annual meeting.

Bruggeman was presented with the award at last week's annual PTEC Conference in New Orleans.

“We’re pleased that Jack has been recognized by PTEC for his longstanding leadership in publishing and his commitment to the education of pharmacy technicians,” Carol Wolfe, vice president of ASHP Publications and Drug Information Systems, said. “His work in establishing the popular Tech Teaching Tips: Advice for Pharmacy Technician Educators and his active involvement in PTEC demonstrate his ongoing dedication to ensuring that pharmacy technicians continue to bring a high level of competency to their important work.”

ASHP is a 40,000-member organization made up of pharmacists, student pharmacists and pharmacist technicians. It represents pharmacists who act as patient care providers in acute and ambulatory settings.
