Amerita earns specialty pharmacy accreditation

Specialty infusion company Amerita was awarded specialty pharmacy accreditation July 17 from URAC, the independent and nonprofit leader in the accreditation of health and managed care organizations.

URAC gave the accreditation, which is effective through Aug. 1, 2018, after performing a comprehensive review of Amerita's policies, procedures and other organizational information, as well as an onsite review. The accreditation shows Amerita meets or exceeds nationally recognized standards and demonstrates its excellence in specialty pharmacy accreditation and its dedication to continuous quality improvement.

“I am proud of our team for achieving full specialty pharmacy accreditation, which provides external validation of our excellence in specialty pharmacy management,” said Amerita President Richard Iriye. “This recognition affirms the hard work and diligent clinical management of our clinicians in ensuring that quality services are provided to our patients in a safe and effective manner. Specialty pharmacy is an important line of business for Amerita, and we look forward to continued growth and success in this rapidly expanding market sector.”

Amerita has a full-service specialty pharmacy that provides high-cost biotech and injectable medications for acute events, complex therapies or specific chronic conditions.

“We applaud Amerita on achieving URAC specialty pharmacy accreditation,” said URAC President and CEO Kylanne Green. “In today’s health care market, URAC accreditation provides a mark of distinction for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality health care.”
