NCPA launches continuing-education video series on pharmacies' need to evolve

The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) recently launched a five-part continuing-education video series examining how community pharmacies can adapt their pharmacy services to meet changing health care needs of customers.

The videos, produced by NCPA and sponsored by H.D. Smith, cover topics such as the role of technology in patient care, marketing and new models of payment.

"Pharmacy is changing, and the shift toward quality standards and value-based patient care presents opportunities as well as challenges," NCPA CEO B. Douglas Hoey said. "Community pharmacies are solution companies — every day, they are adapting and evolving to fill gaps in care, help underserved populations and partner with other providers to transition care for patients. NCPA is proud to offer this continuing-education video series with the support of H.D. Smith to ensure community pharmacists have the skills and knowledge they need to drive better health outcomes for patients and diversify their businesses at the same time.”

Each video provides 1.0 contact hours (0.1 CEUs) of continuing-education credit. Pharmacists must complete a pre-read and post-test before and after each video to receive credit. The videos and accompanying CE credit information can be accessed on the NCPA website.
