PharMerica buys Luker Pharmacy Management

PharMerica Corp. announced Thursday that it has completed its acquisition of Luker Pharmacy Management, although terms were not publicly disclosed.

“The acquisition of Luker Pharmacy Management further expands our hospital pharmacy management business and capabilities," PharMerica CEO Greg Weishar said. "We look forward to working with the Luker management team and the company’s outstanding client base to continue providing excellent service to customers and growing the business.”

Luker Pharmacy Management, founded by Gary Luker, provides hospitals in Texas with comprehensive pharmacy management services. It also provides services through telecommunication technology as a remote pharmacy to provide better care to their patients and uses the 340B Drug Program, which allows them to offer full management for retail and in-hospital programs and keeps their inventory and claims organized through a software system as well as staying up to date with hospitals and other partners to mitigate risk and always be aware of important deadlines or upcoming changes.
  
PharMerica provides pharmacy services to long-term care facilities, hospital pharmacies, specialty home infusion and oncology pharmacies. It operates 94 institutional pharmacies, 15 specialty home infusion pharmacies and five specialty oncology pharmacies around the United States.
