Omnicell will showcase its new and enhanced medication management solutions during this year's American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) mid-year meeting next Monday through Thursday in New Orleans.

"As hospital leaders look for ways to reduce costly readmissions and ensure not only healthy patient outcomes, but simplified provider workflows, we seek to offer solutions that assist in care coordination across the continuum of care from hospital to home," Joe Lynch, vice president of global markets at Omnicell, said. "Following our recent recognition by KLAS as the number one Overall Pharmacy Automation Equipment vendor, we're proud to continue supporting our customers with leading medication management solutions that target key issues for health care providers and their patients."

One of the solutions that will be featured at the meeting is Omnicell Analytics, which improves patient care and safety by streamlining the process of drug diversion management across health systems. It was created to address recent research reporting that one in 10 health care providers will abuse drugs at some point in their lives. The new analytics tool is available through Omnicell's updated 20.0 software released last month.

A product that has been improved with the software and will also be showcased at the meeting is Central Pharmacy Manager. The inventory solution can now work with medication carousels to allow health systems to simplify workflow for pharmacists, reduce redundancy and decrease the chance for medication errors.

Other solutions that will be on display include Microsoft Active Directory that allows for a simplified user management experience, FlexLock 2.0 that ensures CDC guidelines on storing refrigerated vaccines are met and Medisafe's mobile medication adherence solution using SureMed by Omnicell blister cards.
