Compounding Pharmacy of America achieves national accreditation

The pharmaceutical world may soon see an increase in personal compounded medications as Compounding Pharmacy of America attained national accreditation by the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) Friday.

Issued by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), the newly fulfilled accreditation means that Compounding Pharmacy of America is in compliance with national standards as well as industry practices and procedures.

Organizations in the health care industry must undergo a stringent competency and credibility process in order to reach a national accreditation status. Compounding Pharmacy of America’s endorsement by PCAB demonstrates the organization’s commitment to achieving acceptable levels of patient care and safety performance.

“Compounding Pharmacy of America is committed to providing the highest quality of compounded medications to the many communities we serve,” Compounding Pharmacy of America CEO Victor Poteet said. “By achieving accreditation from the PCAB, we’re showing our existing and future customers that our organization follows the best practices in the industry and meets the most rigorous national standards. Additionally, Compounding Pharmacy of America is steadfast in going the extra mile for customers, including delivering their compounded medications in the most convenient way possible.”

The compounding process allows pharmacists, along with the patient’s doctor, to tailor medications to better fit the needs of the patient. Over the last few years, the demand for compounded pharmaceuticals have gradually increased within the pharmacy industry as the practice makes the medication process more efficient and easier for patients to manage.
