CVS Health to collaborate with health care providers in CA, IL, NC and MI

CVS Health has announced new affiliations with four leading health care providers in the states of California, Illinois, North Carolina and Michigan.

They include John Muir Health in California, University of Chicago Medical Center in Illinois, Novant Health in North Carolina and University of Michigan Health System in Michigan. The main goal for these affiliations will be to provide patients with a higher quality and more affordable health care experience.

CVS Health will provide the health care providers with information in relation to prescriptions and visits from patients who participate in medication counseling, chronic disease monitoring and wellness programs at CVS/pharmacy stores and MinuteClinic. The information will be communicated to the health care providers through their secure electronic health record system.

There are more than 9,500 CVS/Pharmacy locations across the U.S. where patients seek advice from pharmacists. MinuteClinic also plays a role in patient care, by providing walk-in customers with care that is both high in quality and reasonably priced. They are open seven days a week, no appointment needed, and accept most major health care coverage. The health care providers and MinuteClinic will also work together by exchanging information and discussing strategies to provide better care for patients.
