Larry Sabato to speak at NACDS Annual Meeting

Election analyst and founder of the University of Virginia Center for Politics Larry J. Sabato will speak during the 2016 National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Annual Meeting’s Political Action Committee Breakfast on Monday, April 18, in Palm Beach, Florida.

“Dr. Sabato was a big hit among attendees at the 2012 NACDS Annual Meeting, when he spoke at a Business Program, and we are excited to welcome him back,” NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson said.

The announcement of Sabato’s engagement in the 2016 NACDS Annual Meeting follows previous announcements that former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives John Boehner and former Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey will speak during the event’s Business Programs on Sunday, April 17, and Tuesday, April 19, respectively.

Sabato is the founder and director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, and he directs the center’s Crystal Ball website, a leader in accurately predicting elections since its inception

The keynote speaker’s success in accurately predicting election outcomes with the University’s Crystal Ball website has earned him national recognition by various news media outlets. In 2006, he was named the most accurate prognosticator by Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC and the Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism.

The former Rhodes Scholar and Danforth fellow is also the author of 25 books and numerous essays on politics, including The New York Times best-selling "The Kennedy Half-Century."

“In that highly dynamic Presidential election year of 2012, he went on to predict the outcome of the race for the White House with amazing accuracy, missing the outcome of just two states in the Electoral College,” Anderson said. “He also accurately predicted 98 percent of the winners of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House and gubernatorial races in 2012 — which he also did in 2010, 2008 and 2006. We look forward to seeing what Dr. Sabato has to say about this highly intriguing political season.”
