The American Journal of Pharmacy Benefits (AJPB) recently announced that it has officially launched its website, www.ajpb.com.

The site’s main function will be to offer content that is in the ALPB’s print version of their journal. It will also include daily news and insights, updates on medications, information about the research of disease treatment and insurance matters.

The goal of the website is to expand on the amount of information and daily news distributed by the AJPB, being that its journal is published only six times a year. In addition to articles published in the print version, the website will also feature commentaries, brief reports and editorials. The site will offer peer reviews as well.

Peer-reviewed research is published by the AJPB, which study management strategies of pharmacy services in regards to cost, quality and the utilization of management policies. The AJPB also presents research and case studies to help management develop and implement strategies that focus on benefits for large populations.

Management strategies covered by the AJPB include prior authorization and generic substitutes, among others. Cost-sharing strategies are also explored, providing information on copayments, coinsurance, health plans targeted for consumers and high-deductible health-care plans.
