SinfoniaRx revealed last week that it is has expanded its medication therapy management (MTM) technology to support the United States’ growing Hispanic population, which has climbed to more than 57 million people.

The company has opened a new call center in the Phoenix area that will help in the improvement of chronic conditions affecting the Hispanic population. The clinical program that will focus on patients who speak Spanish will be called Prescriptions with a goal - partners in your health, or Recetas Con metas - companeros en su salud. SinfoniaRX’s MTM Spanish-speaking providers have been long considered experts in complex and chronic disease management and have been recognized for their work internationally.

SinfoniaRx’s Spanish MTM providers completed more than 4,000 Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) in 2015 and expect to see that number rise in 2016. Hispanics have a higher occurrence of diabetes and liver disease according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and are in need of MTM services tailored specifically to them.

The technology developed by SinfoniaRx is presently being used by pharmacists at the University of Arizona and The Ohio State University to observe prescription usage in more than 300 health plans across the U.S. that represent 6 million patients.
