UnitedHealthcare celebrated the opening of its new office in Davenport, Iowa last week and the expansion of its headquarters located in West Des Moines.

The newly opened office will create 270 new positions in the combined locations to serve those enrolled in the company’s Medicaid plan. The 270 positions will add to the current 675 jobs generated specifically for the Iowa Medicaid program.

UnitedHealthcare was selected to take part in Iowa’s Health Link program. The new office in Davenport and the existing headquarters in West Des Moines will collaborate to support the more than 200,000 Iowans who have health care benefits with UnitedHealthcare.

UnitedHealthcare currently employs more than 1,000 people statewide in Iowa that help serve approximately 500,000 enrolled in the state health exchange, TRICARE, Medicare and Medicaid.

The opening ceremonies for the Davenport office was attended by the city’s mayor, Frank Klipsch, state representatives Dave Heaton, Phyllis Thede, Jim Lykam, Ropp Paustian and Norlin Mommsen, as well as other leaders in the community.
