naviHealth Inc. announced the acquisition of Curaspan Health Group Inc. today.
naviHealth is a Cardinal Health company that focuses on post-acute care management. Curaspan provides an electronic platform that facilitates patient transitions from hospitals to post-discharge providers.
“Curaspan has built a leading technology solution for transitioning patients throughout the continuum of care,” naviHealth CEO Clay Richards said. “As we bridge the gaps among people, technology, and processes, naviHealth’s primary goal is to enable the highest quality of care for patients across all stages of their post-acute care journey. Health care’s evolving reimbursement environment has accelerated the need for clinicians to seek effective tools for managing patients in a value-based care world, and we believe that the combination of our existing clinical decision support tools and clinical analytics with Curaspan’s leading care transitions platform and post-acute network will create a compelling customer offering.”
The addition of Curaspan, which is installed in more than 600 hospitals, will expand naviHealth's capabilities in the post-acute market. The ability to communicate patient information and referrals to post-discharge facilities, such as nursing homes, acute care hospitals, dialysis centers and other providers will improve the patient experience.
“The combination of Curaspan and naviHealth products and services will provide our customers with a comprehensive suite of solutions designed to meet many of their emerging workflow and value-based care needs,” Curaspan President and CEO Thomas R. Ferry said. “No other health care company will be able to match the network and the range of products and services we will offer.”
