Cigna and Rush Health collaborate to improve services for plan members

Cigna today announced a new collaboration with Chicago-based Rush Health, which is intended to improve the health care experience for Cigna health plan members who receive care from Rush Health providers.

“Cigna has seen first-hand the value our collaborative care arrangements can bring to individuals as well as to physician practices,” Regional Medical Executive for the Northeast region Dr. Peter W. McCauley Sr. said. “Cigna currently has 150 collaborative care relationships in 29 states, and we’re delighted that Rush Health is now one of our collaborative care arrangement partners.”

The program will enable Cigna patients with chronic or other health problems to receive assistance from Rush Health's registered nurse care coordinators. The coordinators will help patients with medication regimes, encourage preventative health visits and improve follow-up care. In return, Rush Health will receive compensation for the coordinators' services.

“This collaboration is consistent with our mission to improve overall patient experience and further enhance the quality of health care provided to our patients,” Rush Health President and CEO Brent Estes said. “We are excited to participate in the Cigna Collaborative Care program.”
