CVS Health, CVS Health Foundation donate $100,000 to Louisiana relief efforts

CVS Health and the CVS Health Foundation will donate $100,000 in cash and in-kind support to organizations that are helping the flooding victims of central Louisiana by providing relief efforts.

Among the organizations receiving funds from CVS Health is the Salvation Army USA Southern Territory and the American Red Cross.

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory, which has reported that more than 11,000 people are still currently in shelters after southern Louisiana flooding forced rescues and evacuations, received $50,000 from the CVS Health Foundation. The Salvation Army is providing those seeking refuge from the floods with meals, water, hygiene kits, cleanup kits and other high-need items.

"We are deeply saddened by the devastating floods in Louisiana and the catastrophic effect it's having on our customers and colleagues in the community," CVS Health Corporate Social Responsibility SVP and CVS Health Foundation President Eileen Howard Boone said. "We're committed to ensuring that residents hit hard by the historic flooding have continued access to critical pharmacy care services and the support they need to recover and rebuild."

CVS Health has also donated $50,000 in infant care, personal hygiene and over-the-counter products to the American Red Cross.
