CVS Health this week announced the launch of Project Health, its free health services campaign that is held on an annual basis.

Project Health is part of CVS’ dedication to the improvement of health care access for all Americans.

Ten CVS Pharmacy Locations in multicultural communities across the U.S. have been selected to host Project Health, which will deliver approximately $8 million in free health services at more than 500 Project Health events from Sept. 8 to Dec. 18.

"Despite the increased number of Americans who have become insured over the past five years, there are still barriers to quality care, such as cost and access, for many patients," CVS Health CMO Dr. Troyen A. Brennan said. "Project Health is part of CVS Health's commitment to improving access to quality care by identifying health concerns and risk factors for participants who may not have otherwise sought preventative care."

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Director and Marketplace CEO Kevin Counihan applauded CVS for its initiative. "We thank them for their continued commitment to providing free health screenings and educational materials ensuring better health for many Americans."
