CVS Health has launched an October celebration to recognize the approximately 30,000 pharmacists employed in CVS Pharmacies who help people obtain better health as part of American Pharmacists Month.

"Whether providing face-to-face consultations at the pharmacy counter or helping patients with complex conditions manage their specialty medications by phone, our pharmacists are truly the front line of health care," CVS Health President and CEO Larry Merlo said. "Our pharmacists are not only trusted resources for patients, but are also key players in the evolution of CVS Health, delivering innovative products and services and enabling our patients and clients to manage health in more effective and affordable ways."

CVS pharmacists are revolutionizing the way health care is delivered to patients. This has been done in CVS’ retail stores, through its mail service and in its specialty pharmacies across the U.S. by increasing access, decreasing the cost of medicines and improving the quality of care individuals receive.

CVS now offers a various number of programs and services, going above and beyond just filling prescriptions, that help manage the health care of patients.

On Oct. 18, CVS Health will also hold a celebration for National Pharmacy Technician Day for its 50,000 technicians.
