The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has filed a civil action suit against a subsidiary of Shire, PLC, as part of a citizen petition submission regarding antibiotic Vancocin.
Shire purchased ViroPharma in January 2014 and divested in Vancocin in August that same year. ViroPharma challenged the petitions in 2006 and 2012.
Shire said that it had no participation in these challenges, and also said the trade commission’s actions are without merit.
