Walgreens and Prime Therapeutics LLC (Prime) have agreed to create a central specialty pharmacy and mail services company.
The agreement comes after the companies' relationship was made official in August 2016, as AllianceRx.
Under the name of AllanceRx Walgreens Prime, the roughly 3,000 employees of the company will be made up of individuals who are employed by Walgreens and Prime.
Joel Wright, who was the divisional vice president for Walgreens specialty solutions, will now be the CEO of AllianceRx Walgreens Prime as the company begins to bring mail and specialty pharmacy services together.
AllianceRx Walgreens Prime and Walgreens Boots Alliance do not foresee material changes in the 2017 fiscal adjusted earnings per share.
