Aetna provides new health plans for PinnacleHealth, Valley Preferred
The two plans, Aetna Whole Health-PinnacleHealth and Aetna Whole Health-Valley Preferred, will provide individuals with affordable health care, a more coordinated patient experience, enhanced benefits and better health care outcomes. Members will be able to use the health care systems' doctors, hospitals and ambulatory services. The PinnacleHealth plan is available for people in the Harrisburg area, while the Valley Preferred plan is available for those in the Leigh Valley area.
“Aetna is very excited to provide high-quality, affordable options to individuals," Laurie Brubaker, president of Aetna's operations in Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, said. "These new plans offer consumers access to a more coordinated health care experience."
Both health plans are offered on and off the health care exchange and took effect Friday.
Aetna has previously offered employer groups health plans under accountable care arrangements with PinnacleHealth System and Valley Preferred that include a payment model rewarding doctors when they achieve certain standards, such as improvement in patient satisfaction. Aetna provides a variety of insurance plans and related services, including medical, dental, disability and long-term care.
