In a move to increase transparency and public engagement, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has launched a new podcast series titled "LARA Living Room." The series aims to provide insights into how regulation functions in Michigan and its significance.

The podcast will feature discussions with LARA professionals, highlighting the human aspect of regulation and its impact on Michigan residents. "LARA Living Room is our invitation to the public to sit down with us and learn how policy and regulation come to life," said Marlon I. Brown, Director of LARA. He added that the goal is to demystify regulatory processes and explain how they ensure safety, support livelihoods, and serve public interests.

Episodes will cover various topics within LARA's responsibilities, such as the licensing process for Michigan professionals, community safety inspections, innovations in regulatory technology, compliance, and personal stories from behind the scenes. The podcast seeks to foster trust and connect more Michiganders with LARA’s mission.

"LARA Living Room" is now available on platforms including LARA's website, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Buzzsprout, or other podcast services. Licensees, stakeholders, and industry partners are encouraged to engage with this content to enhance understanding of Michigan’s regulatory environment.
