CVS Pharmacy recently announced that it will be expanding its initiative to put a variety of healthy foods and beverages in more than 2,900 stores across the United States.

"Since becoming the first and only national pharmacy chain to end the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products, the number one thing we've heard from our customers is the desire for healthier food options," SVP of Front Store Business Judy Sansone said. "This year, we are continuing to expand the assortment, volume and shelf space dedicated to better-for-you foods and snacks offered in our stores nationwide to make healthier snacking easier and more convenient for our customers."

During the course of the year, 100 stores per week will see its selection of healthier foods enhanced with the addition of a well-thought-out selection of brands that make eating healthier easier to do on-the-go, more convenient and less expensive. The initiative will be expanded beyond the 500-store test pilot program that began in 2015 and is a crucial step for CVS toward becoming a premier location for better health that is easily accessible by millions of people.
