Marken this week announced the official opening of a new GDP-compliant operations center in Switzerland.
The new location will be located in Zurich due to rising demand from local pharmaceutical companies, all of which have clinical development programs that are growing. GDP stands for good distribution practices.
The new operation center is located in very close proximity to the freight terminal at Zurich Airport and major Swiss highways. The center will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year and will house offices and a warehouse equipped with refrigerators and freezers for temperature controlled packaging.
"Marken has built a global logistics network specifically designed to meet the needs of the global pharmaceutical industry,” Marken CEO Wes Wheeler said. “Our newest site in Zurich replaces our smaller office with expanded capabilities so that we can be ready for the increased clinical logistics demands from our clients. We have also set the standard for GDP compliance, especially in Europe, and will certify the operations according to our own 'Gold Book' standard. We are the only 100 percent dedicated, patient-centric supply chain organization in the life sciences industry. We will continue to expand our global footprint to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of our clients."
