The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has announced a series of upcoming events aimed at pharmacists and pharmacy team members.
On August 6, NCPA will join with several national pharmacy groups to host a webinar titled "All Pharmacy Town Hall: Examining Changes in Vaccine Policy Affecting Practice and the Community." The session will focus on how recent changes in vaccine policy and practice recommendations are impacting vaccine service delivery.
Another educational opportunity is scheduled for August 14, when NCPA’s Learning Hour series presents "Harnessing the Pharmacist-Patient Relationship: Enhancing Revenue and Better Diabetes Outcomes Through Community-Based Education." This webinar will address how pharmacist interventions can improve diabetes outcomes by promoting patient-centered communication, reducing bias, building trust, and strengthening connections.
Pharmacy professionals interested in diabetes education accreditation have until August 24 to register for the Diabetes Accreditation Boot Camp. This online course, offered by the NCPA Innovation Center in partnership with PharmFurther, prepares participants for diabetes self-management education accreditation within six weeks. The accreditation allows pharmacies to bill Medicare and other payers for diabetes education services they may already be providing.
Two important deadlines are approaching for those wishing to participate in sessions at the upcoming NCPA Annual Convention. September 9 is the application deadline for the 2025 Innovations in Community Practice Poster Symposium. This event gives NCPA members, students, recent graduates, and residents an opportunity to present research or services that benefit community pharmacy. Additionally, September 23 marks the deadline to apply for the 2025 Residency Showcase at the convention. Pharmacy teams can use this event to highlight their post-graduate programs and connect with students interested in community pharmacy careers.
NCPA continues to encourage community pharmacy teams to invite federal representatives for visits during Congress’s August in-district work period. With pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reforms excluded from recent budget legislation, NCPA emphasizes ongoing advocacy efforts with lawmakers regarding previously agreed-upon reforms.
Registration remains open for Pre-Convention Growth and Profitability Programs taking place ahead of the NCPA 2025 Annual Convention in New Orleans. Registration is also available for the convention itself—which runs October 18-21—and attendees are advised to book housing by September 23 to secure better hotel rates.
"Founded in 1898, the National Community Pharmacists Association is the voice for the community pharmacist, representing over 18,900 pharmacies that employ more than 205,000 individuals nationwide. Community pharmacies are rooted in the communities where they are located and are among America’s most accessible health care providers. To learn more, visit www.ncpa.org," according to NCPA.
