The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has announced a series of upcoming events and educational opportunities for pharmacists and pharmacy teams. The organization, which represents more than 18,900 pharmacies and over 205,000 employees nationwide, is hosting several webinars and workshops aimed at professional development in the field.
On September 11, NCPA will hold a webinar titled "What Compounders Need to Know: Regulatory Advocacy and How to Build Your Business," as part of its Learning Hour series. The session will focus on strategies for streamlining workflow, maintaining compliance, and strengthening the business aspects of compounding practices.
A second webinar in the Learning Hour series, "Navigating the Big Beautiful Bill: Tax Readiness and Accounting Essentials," is scheduled for September 18. This event will address compliance issues, daily operations management, accounting principles, and proactive tax planning strategies for pharmacy professionals.
The application deadline for the 2025 Community Pharmacy Residency and Fellowship Showcase is set for September 23. The showcase will take place during the NCPA Annual Convention and provides an opportunity for pharmacy teams to present their post-graduate programs while connecting with students interested in community pharmacy careers.
Registration remains open for several pre-convention programs ahead of the NCPA 2025 Annual Convention in New Orleans. These include the Business of Long-Term Care Workshop (October 16-17), Pharmacy Ownership Workshop (October 16-17), and "New Route to Reimbursement: A Roadmap from Application to Activation" (October 17). The annual convention itself is scheduled for October 18-21 in New Orleans. Those interested are encouraged to register by September 23 to secure better hotel rates.
Enrollment is also ongoing through October 31 for the NCPA Innovation Center/CPESN Community Pharmacy Fellowship program. Described as an executive MBA-like initiative, this fellowship features experienced pharmacy professionals guiding participants through implementing services that generate revenue beyond traditional dispensing. The next class begins in November.
Media representatives interested in attending or covering the convention are directed to contact Andie Pivarunas at [email protected].
