PPA celebrates 10 years of helping Americans access prescription medicines
"For 10 years, PPA and our member companies have been at the forefront assisting patients who need help accessing their medicines," Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America CEO John Castellani said. "We will continue to work diligently to ensure patients and caregivers across the country know that help is available through assistance programs and PPA."
Although Americans have more access to insurance, barriers to accessing necessary medications are still present. PPA seeks to educate and enable patients and caregivers to attain information about their prescription assistance options.
PPA and other patient assistance programs have helped more than 36 million uninsured or under-insured Americans gain access to medications in the past 10 years.
Last month, PPA launched a redesigned website with new features and functions to provide patients and caregivers with faster and easier to access information on more than 475 public and private assistance programs. The website also features information on more than 100,000 free health care clinics throughout the country
