MAXIMUS, a global provider of government services, said Monday it launched DecisionPoint for Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) to help states navigate the complexities of public drug benefit programs.
DecisionPoint for PBM combines a comprehensive software application with decades of Medicaid program administration experience, resulting in a solution that addresses the need for states to better manage prescription drug programs used by a rapidly expanding and increasingly diverse group of beneficiaries.
“Health care reform brought millions of new beneficiaries into Medicaid programs,¨ MAXIMUS President Bruce Caswell said. “States are striving to efficiently meet the needs of this influx and DecisionPoint for Pharmacy Benefits Management helps Medicaid program directors manage the complex needs of their prescription drug programs.”
DecisionPoint for PBM features multiprogram management capabilities and a sophisticated and configurable rules engine. It also includes an advanced prior authorization process so that each program can have its own beneficiary eligibility criteria, prescriber populations, member pharmacies, benefit lists and instant
prior authorization
configuration.
MAXIMUS launched DecisionPoint for PBM at the three-day National Council for Prescription Drug Programs Conference, which began Monday.
MAXIMUS Vice President of Business Development John Crouse and a team of pharmacy benefits management experts were at the conference to demonstrate
