Centric Health appoints independent member to board of directors.
Centric Health Corporation, a Canadian healthcare services company, announced on Wednesday that A. Rik Ganderton will be appointed as an independent member of the board of directors, effective Aug. 5.

Ganderton will participate on both the Audit, Human Resources and Compensation committee and the Nomination and Governance committee. He succeeds Tom Magyarody, whose departure was previously announced.

"We are very pleased to welcome Mr. Ganderton to the board of directors," Jack Shevel, chairman of Centric Health Corporation, said. "His impressive track record over the past 40 years in senior leadership primarily in healthcare operations and consulting bring considerable value to our board."

In May, Ganderton retired from his positions as president and CEO of the Rouge Valley Health System. During his time there, he successfully led a financial turnaround of the organization, substantially reducing the cost structure of RVHS using Lean Management techniques while increasing revenues. His experience includes Health Care Systems, Payors, Suppliers and other healthcare entities, and he has held several interim positions as a chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

“Mr. Ganderton, as a seasoned healthcare industry veteran, will certainly stand us in good stead as Centric Health continues to pursue its strategy of becoming Canada's most respected brand in the independent healthcare sector, world-renowned for quality, innovation and delivering sustainable value to patients, clients and stakeholders," Shevel said.
