TCGRx introduces Beacon Mobile handheld device

TCGRx, a supplier of pharmacy automation and workflow solutions, today announced the introduction of Beacon Mobile, a handheld device that reduces medication stocking and inventory search time, improving efficiency and increasing accuracy.

“Beacon Mobile provides even greater efficiencies by allowing users to disengage from a computer terminal in order to stock and search for medications in the Beacon system,” Matt Noffsinger, executive vice president of sales at TCGRx, said.

Beacon combines pick-to-light medication storage and retrieval with barcode verification, reducing errors and improving customer satisfaction.

The Beacon system utilizes high-density fixtures in order to reduce a pharmacy’s footprint and technicians’ walk and search time.

“By reducing the pharmacy footprint, we are able to make room for additional consulting, MTM programs, Adherence Packaging, vaccines and other types of value-added programs to increase pharmacy revenue and margins,” TCGRx CEO Duane Chudy said.

Beacon Mobile will be available for viewing and demonstration at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Total Store Expo in Denver from Aug. 23-25, by appointment only.
