ProHealth Physicians joins OptumCare

ProHealth Physicians (ProHealth), one of the largest independent physician groups in Connecticut, recently joined the OptumCare organization to improve the quality of care for its 360,000-plus active patients.

“As a progressive leader in helping patients access high-quality, compassionate care, ProHealth is a strong fit with OptumCare and our focus on advancing patient-centered care nationwide, starting at the local level, ” Optum CEO Larry Renfro said. “We look forward to working with ProHealth to enhance its already outstanding support of physicians, other care providers and patients in Connecticut.”

The new integration is centered around the key mission of providing quality and efficient health care in local communities and keeping the costs of care down by improving communication between patients, physicians, hospitals and health insurers.

Optum will assist ProHealth by providing the organization’s nearly 370 physicians and advanced practitioners with clinical and administrative office support that includes comprehensive data, analytic and connectivity solutions.

“Partnering with Optum will further enhance the high-quality care that our physicians and advanced practitioners provide to their patients today,” ProHealth Physicians CEO Jack Reed said. “Both of our organizations are committed to helping providers continually deliver the best possible care and services and to building healthier communities.”
