NACDS and Healthcare Ready aiding the East Coast during winter storm

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and its partner Healthcare Ready are coming to the aid of those needing medical supplies and prescriptions filled all along the East Coast, which was recently buried in snow and ice by Winter Storm Jonas.

Specifically, NACDS is bringing them information on which pharmacies are open through their online resource, RX Open. RX Open has remained active throughout the storm for 17 states and Washington, D.C. The site's information is updated twice a day. This is due to Healthcare Ready’s partnership with public health associates and emergency authorities.

Healthcare Ready has been active in helping communities during disasters for the last seven years. During disasters, the company formerly known as Rx Response helps with the identification and resolution of problems faced by the bio-pharmaceutical supply chain. It has helped during nearly 50 disasters across the country during that seven-year span, which has helped it build a certain level of trust with industry members, governments and emergency officials.
