McKesson Specialty Health today announced its comprehensive solution for The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) Oncology Care Model (OCM).
Oncology practices participating in OCM must collect
and share quality metric requirements with the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Services (CMS).
"McKesson Specialty Health continues to invest in a comprehensive OCM solution and to support the advancement of community oncology," VP and General Manager, Managed Care, Quality and Provider Solutions Diana Verrilli said. "This includes testing our solutions early and designing integrated modules that focus on critical areas for success in value-based care.”
The US Oncology Network is testing McKesson's solutions, preparing for the rollout of OCM on July 1. The knowledge gained from the pilot sites will improve the services, expertise and technology that will support oncology practices as they transition to the OCM payment and care delivery model.
"Preparation for the OCM has energized the whole practice to do better for our patients,” Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers Practice President and Managing Partner Dr. John Fleagle said. “The structure that the OCM requires has brought together expert teams in data analytics, IT and clinical content throughout McKesson Specialty Health and The US Oncology Network to create a system of care that meets the goals of the program. From the navigator meeting the patient and their loved ones for the first time, the practice provides expert guidance and well conceived care throughout the continuum of their experience with cancer."
