Rite Aid Corp. recently announced the relocation of its Harrisburg store from Market Street to Strawberry Square.
"We're excited about the opportunity to bring our unique brand of health and wellness to such a prime location in downtown Harrisburg," Rite Aid SVP of Store Development David Kelly said. "Rite Aid has had a presence in Harrisburg for more than 40 years; relocating to Strawberry Square builds upon our commitment to the community and enables us to better serve and meet the needs of longtime customers, while also introducing our brand to customers who are new to Rite Aid."
Scheduled to open in December, the new 14,000-square-foot Wellness store format is part of the redevelopment effort in Harrisburg's downtown. The Harristown Development Corp. has been working since 1974 to revive the downtown area. Rite Aid partnered with the non-profit organization to move the store into its new space.
The new Rite Aid location will feature entrances from the street and inside the mixed use complex. The street level entrance is designed to lead customers directly to the pharmacy. It will feature a wood floor as a path. The wood tones will be repeated through the store. The warm color palette and soft lighting provide a soothing shopping experience.
Pharmacists with specialized training can help customers with information on diabetes, medication management, immunizations and other health information. Wellness Ambassadors will assist customers with information on over-the-counter medications and vitamins as well as Rite Aid services. The new Rite Aid will also feature a variety of health and wellness products suited for their long-time customers and new visitors to the store.
