CVS Pharmacy MinuteClinic locations across the country recently introduced health services and immunizations related to travel to assist patients in their preparation for the travel season.

The walk-in medical clinics located inside CVS Pharmacies and inside Target stores have presented these new services in order to keep patients safe and healthy during the 2016 travel season.

"Whether attending the upcoming 2016 Summer Games in Brazil, performing humanitarian service in a developing country, preparing for a semester abroad, or simply enjoying a tropical beach vacation, international travelers should consider the health risks of the destination they are visiting and the preventive measures available to avoid harmful illness and disease," MinuteClinic's Chief Nurse Practitioner Angela Patterson said. "Our new suite of travel-related health services assists families and individual travelers as they make plans for overseas trips."

Pre-travel risk assessment can now be conducted by nurse practitioners or physician assistants at MinuteClinic locations nationwide for patients before they embark on their trips. Each patient undergoing these pre-travel assessments receives an individualized plan for prevention and treatments that are specific to the countries they have planned to visit. Patients also received educational information on health risks, disease outbreaks and recommended vaccines.
