Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) are continuing to form with the continued growth and mergers of health systems.
This is allowing manufacturers to decide the best course of action for contracting with the IDNs and sell to them, especially now with the evolving systems, to ensure continued product success. With conflicts of interest policies now in place and limited access to physicians, manufacturers are approaching sales in a different manner to reach their new customers.
In an effort to bring manufacturers bring together with IDNs, CBI is partnering with IDNs BioPharma Strategy Summit to begin discussions on how best to form partnerships that are mutually beneficial and create the coordination of continual care, strategic product management and improved access.
Some of the insights from the meeting included engaging panels discussing the IDN model of patient care coordination and what it can do to improve the patient experience on behalf of the provider, manufacturer, payer and other stakeholders; a luminary showcase around the pros and cons of national specialty pharmacies vs.IDN specialty pharmacies; changes in the hospital reimbursement model, focused on quality tied to outcomes measures; and effective ways manufacturers can partner with health systems and support their goals.
