Purdue Pharma's Colace product line and Senokot tablets will now come with new packaging.
The Colace product line includes the No. 1 doctor recommended stool softener brand, while Senokot tablets use a natural vegetable laxative ingredient, senna.
“We are committed to helping consumers better understand the advantages of the Colace and Senokot products,” Stephen Fritz, Purdue Pharma's director of over-the-counter marketing and sales, said. “These packaging changes, including differentiating the suite of products by color and offering clearer descriptions of their uses and benefits, will further help guide selection of the right medication to address occasional constipation needs.”
Purdue noted that the new packaging will ship to retailers and wholesalers this year and has already starting showing up on retailer shelves and websites.
“Constipation and irregularity impact an estimated 42 million Americans, causing them discomfort,” Carrie Chomiak, Purdue Pharma's head of over-the-counter franchise, said. “People should have access to the best options for their at-home care, and with the new packaging updates made to Colace and Senokot products, consumers will have an easier time identifying the appropriate solution for them.”
