Boston-based biopharmaceutical firm Parexel International Corp. has had two of its leaders earn a place on PharmaVOICE magazine’s annual list of the life science industry’s top 100 “inspiring people” for their overall industry contribution and highest level of commitment.

Dr. Sy Pretorius, Parexel’s senior vice president and chief scientific officer; and Dr. Evan Demestihas, Parexel vice president and also global head of The Medical Affairs Co. (TMAC), attained the prestigious ranking based on their outstanding performance, dedication and forward-looking service, including providing mentoring to up-and-coming leaders in the field of biosciences.

Pretorius, who has worked at Parexel for over two decades in global managerial roles, oversees numerous company endeavors on three continents. Demestihas, with 30 years of expertise, arrived at Parexel in February when the firm acquired TMAC, a Kennesaw, Georgia-based provider of outsourced medical practitioners.

“We are proud that PharmaVOICE has recognized Dr. Sy Pretorius and Dr. Evan Demestihas among this year’s 100 most inspiring people in the life sciences industry,” Parexel Chairman and CEO Josef von Rickenbach said. “The leadership, innovation, and dedication that both Sy and Evan bring to PAREXEL inspire our global workforce each day.”

PharmaVOICE 100 recognizes individuals whose work enhances their colleagues, companies and the pharmaceutical industry in general.
