The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has announced a series of upcoming events designed for pharmacists and pharmacy team members. These events aim to address current issues in the pharmacy sector and provide valuable resources for professional development.

On July 24, an advocacy update titled "What States Did for Pharmacies in 2025" will be held. Joel Kurzman and Belawoe Akwakoku from NCPA will discuss state legislative sessions focusing on PBM reform, Medicaid managed care reform, and expanded scope of practice.

A webinar exclusive to NCPA members is scheduled for July 31. Staff from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will explain the Medicare Transaction Facilitator process and respond to attendee questions.

The registration deadline for the Diabetes Accreditation Boot Camp is August 24. This online course, offered by the NCPA Innovation Center and PharmFurther, prepares participants for diabetes self-management education accreditation within six weeks or less.

NCPA encourages community pharmacy teams to invite federal representatives for visits during the August in-district work period. This initiative aims to keep pharmacy-related reforms at the forefront of congressional agendas.

Additionally, registration is open for Pre-Convention Growth and Profitability Programs ahead of the NCPA 2025 Annual Convention in New Orleans. Early bird rates are available until July 19. The convention itself will take place from October 18-21 and serves as a major national business event for independent pharmacists.

Founded in 1898, NCPA represents over 18,900 pharmacies across the United States, employing more than 205,000 individuals. The association continues to serve as a voice for community pharmacists nationwide.
