BioPlus releases hepatitis C treatment information app

BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy last week released a new app that will help keep health care providers informed with the most up-to-date treatment guidelines for treating chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.

“This app is a valuable tool for prescribers, especially in light of the near-constant revisions to best practices of HCV treatment based on new information and FDA approvals of new medications and medication combinations,” BioPlus chief operations officer Elvin Montanez said.

The new app, HCV Treatment Path, offers the latest hepatitis C virus treatment guidelines based on information from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and other reliable and scientific sources.

Over the past few years, multiple new direct-acting hepatitis C virus oral medication have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration, and several have been approved in the past few months. BioPlus created the HCV Treatment Path app to meet physician's specialty pharmacy needs of accessing the latest hepatitis C virus treatment information.

“With the HCV Treatment Pathway app, prescribers will have the latest information in the palm of their hands to make the best decisions for their patients, which in turn supports the best patient outcomes,” Montanez said.
