Care First, Intralign sign physician participation agreement
The agreement allows Surgical First Assistants (SFAs) to have in-network status for their support of surgeons in hospitals in Maryland. Further, the agreement allows for increased use of surgeon extenders, which will decrease surgery time and increase operating room productivity without compromising quality of care.
The use of SFAs during surgery decreases procedure times while increasing surgical quality but does not add any costs to the system.
