Cigna announces president of Tennessee market

Cigna on Tuesday announced that it has appointed Greg Allen as president for the Tennessee market.

In this newly created position, Allen will be responsible for the products and services Cigna offers in Tennessee. Allen’s areas of focus will be to improve customer satisfaction through personalized service, help improve health and affordability and to lead Cigna's efforts to serve the community.

“Greg is a proven leader who has over 20 years of experience in health care,” Andrew Crooks, regional vice president for Cigna, said. “For the past 10 years, he has worked closely with Tennessee doctors, hospitals and other healthcare professionals to innovate and create better ways of working together, and he has close ties to the community. With this deep understanding of local healthcare needs, he will continue the company’s mission to improve the health, well-being and sense of security of the people and communities we serve.”

Prior to his new position, Allen served in several leadership positions at Cigna-HealthSpring. Most recently, he served as the leader of the Alabama and Tennessee markets and previously as HealthSpring president of the Tennessee market.

Before joining Cigna-HealthSpring, Allen was director of finance for HealthSpring’s predecessor company, North American Medical Management.
