Essentia Health wins 11 awards for quality services

HealthPartners recently awarded Essentia Health’s primary care and pharmacy teams with 11 awards to celebrate the organization’s commitment to revolutionizing the health care system.

For primary care, Essentia received Preventive Care Recognition Awards for their outstanding efforts to increase annual wellness visits and childhood immunization rates. In recent years, Essentia teams have increased the all-inclusive immunization rates of children at age 2 from 75 to 83 percent.

“This year’s class of applicants builds upon an impressive body of work as health care teams work to achieve the Triple Aim,” Dr. Andrew Zinkel, HealthPartners’ medical director for quality, said. “It’s all about improving health outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction and making health care more affordable. This group has proven that with hard work and collaboration, it’s possible to achieve all three for our members and our patients.”

Essentia’s primary care and pharmacy department were also recognized for their dedication to quality metrics in areas, such as diabetes care and pharmaceutical management.

“The awards validate work being done across Essentia Health to improve the health and well-being of our patients,” Dr. Patrick Twomey, chief medical officer, said. "It brings the goals of the Triple Aim – a better patient experience, improved population health and reduced costs – to life in the communities we serve."

Launched in 2010, Essentia Health is an integrated health care system with patient facilities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Idaho.
